The Odyssey solution is web based and will operate using either Safari or Chrome as the web browser. The FireFox browser is not supported by FileMaker, the platform on which Odyssey is built.
This section will show you how to make Bookmarks, Pins and Favourites - which all assist to easily access the Login-in page; as well as how to enable Popups.

It is critical that you bookmark, and share with your colleagues, the link that we provide you, and not the link to the page which comes next. The link we provide you will always find your Odyssey file, even if we move it to a different server.

Bookmarks can be viewed in different ways, depending on your browser, by choosing ' Show Bookmarks" from the Bookmarks menu in Safari, or just by clicking on Bookmarks in Chrome.
Pinning a tab
Pinning browser tabs is a feature built in to the browsers that makes it easier to manage having multiple pages open within the browser simultaneously.
Right-click on the tab and choose Pin Tab
Pinning a browser tab
The feature narrows the tab and moves it to the left of the screen.
Odyssey is now a pinned tab at the left hand end of your browser

Session length
Odyssey has been configured to enable your Browser session to stay open when idle for up to 60mins. This is the maximum time allowed by WebDirect, which is the app which allows FileMaker to run your browser. It is a security feature of WebDirect, in the same way as your banking app closes down when your browser has been idle for a set period of time. At Creative Technology, we have no control over this setting. This affects all users, and all of our clients.
If you click something in Odyssey in that time, the counter starts again, meaning you can use it all day long.
Are you finding that the session does stay idle for up to 60 minutes. If not, we have a couple of recommendations for you:
1. Often, the reason your connection might be getting timed out is due to cookies or caches becoming corrupted and creating problems in establishing a connection between your browser and the website's server. Therefore, a good option is to clear your browsing data from your Google Chrome (or whatever your browser is).
2. We suggest that you find a company phone, and change the network settings on your PC/Mac to use the phone's wifi hotspot instead of your office network. Then continue to work as normal.
If the Odyssey session then remains open for the entire 60mins, you can assume the issue is within the your business' network/Router/Hub/Firewall configurations, and you should seek some local IT help to review that.
Browser not remembering passwords?
Some users have reported that their Browser does not remember passwords. This is not a fault with Odyssey, but something to do with your Browser's security settings.
Unfortunately we can't provide you with every browser's required settings, but here's a couple of screen shots which might help:
Follow the Steps above to get to your Password settings, and navigate to the Google Password Manager, below
access Chrome Browser's Google Password Manager
Go to Settings, and ensure that Offer to Save passwords, and Sign in automatically are turned on
Mac | Chrome browser | 3 dots on RHS takes you to these settings
Go to Passwords, and if necessary, add Creative Technology to your list of saved sites, usernames and passwords.
Mac | Chrome browser | 3 dots on RHS takes you to these settings. You may have to add Creative Technology to the list of URL's
Sometimes, you have to clear the browser's cache: From the Chrome menu, go to preferences or settings, and clear the cache and cookies, and then log in, save the password, log out. When you log out Google Password manager might ask you to save that username in a pop up window in the top right corner of the browser. Add the username and close the window - you should then find it will remember your username and password from now on.
