Tour | Booking Settings - Tour/Departure/Trip types



The Departure or Trip Type settings allows you to set up the categories of trip types you offer, e.g. Package, custom, and also describe the costing structure. It can also be used to describe a trip type for the purposes of making conditional rules in Mail Jet. For example, your trip types could be categorised as "gravelbike" "ebike" "nobike", and then MailJet can contain specific blocks of text if "{{var:L3Type:""}} equals gravelbike".


The main purpose of the Departure types is for internal reporting purposes, but can also be used for setting conditional rules in MailJet.

To create a new Tour Type



  • From the Main Menu | Settings | Tour|Booking Settings, select Tour type

Tour Type

To define details about your Departure or Trip type, click once on a record to open the following window:


Edit as follows:

  • Enter the trip description
  • Notes about how this trip type is constructed
  • Tick Charge for items if charging for costs is the default behaviour when using this trip type
  • Select the appropriate status for this Departure type from the drop down list; Active if this trip type is currently in use, Archived if no longer in use

Where is the trip type field used?


The trip type field is used on the Departure Details screen, and is mostly used for internal reporting purposes.
