Unassigned bags

If the Daily Diary says there are unassigned bag movements, this is likely because the Provider does not have a default run assigned to it.

Then, if that field is empty, Odyssey will see if the Pax is travelling on a shuttle on the same day... and Add the bags to that Run... which makes sense really...

So it checks to see if the PAX are on a shuttle, and then to see if maybe just the Bikes are being moved along the trail... and it will use this Run selection. It's TRYING to be a bit of a detective... To make the data management as minimal as possible for the Depot Staff.

When a Provider has NO Run/Sector assigned to them, any bag being moved TO them, has no idea WHICH Run they should be assigned to. And in the case of central 'hub-n-spoke' type locations, it can be impossible to assign a Provider to just ONE Run, when they could be used on any of multiple different Runs, even different ones on the same day.

Therefore, Odyssey allows you to leave those unassigned, and gives you the opportunity to assign those bags to the most appropriate Run for that day, based on what else is happening.

The main Summary view shows on the Top Line, the number of bags which need to be assigned.

Clicking on the Bag Transfer button at the bottom, took us to the list of how those 8 bags were made up, and in this example, it's fairly basic... with them all belonging to one Departure. 

Tip: Hovering over the record will show the Departure Description.

Clicking on that record line will display the pop-up window to make your selection and apply the change.

Now those 8 Bags have been moved a different Run
