There are 5 different Movement Types within Odyssey:

SHUTTLE / BIKE / BAG / VEHICLE / CUSTOM


These are configured in the User Settings and each has a different icon to represent the theme of that Type.  


Movement terminology can be edited in Odyssey, to allow you to use exactly the same language to define movements, as you already do in your day to day operations.  


Each company can define their own Description for movement types.


The Reporting Label field contains text that when added to a 'count' field, will make a text sentence understandable when used in their clients communication. 



  1. Shuttle - (eg: People/Pax/Clients ) can chose a Shuttle/time/day to be part of their itinerary.
  2. Bag - (eg: Bags/Luggage) can be moved from one location to another, using the Route management system, automatically matching a client's accomodation.
  3. Bike - Bikes can be moved from one location to another, using the Route management system.
  4. Vehicle - Vehicles can be stored for 'x' of days, or relocated from one location to another, as part of an itinerary.
  5. Custom - When a standard Shuttle time/date does not match the needs of a group booking. Custom Shuttles can be created and charged for to provide the flexibility or needs of the group booking. These are generally a private shuttle with no other 'non' group people able to book on it.

Note that any movement types which aren't used in your business can be turned off in the views tab of each of your Masters


These movement types define the Movements tab in all areas of Odyssey, such as in Masters, Departures and Bookings

To edit a movement type

Note: the icons cannot be modified by the end user. Nor can Movement Types be added or removed.

Editing the movement type

Change the  Description field, or the Reporting label field to suit your business.  The Reporting Label contains text that will make a text sentence understandable when used in their clients communication. Eg: Your Booking contains: 3 Bag Transfers, 4 Custom Shuttles.)

IF the Accounting ( Xero API ) Advanced Module has been activated by Creative Technology for your Odyssey set-up, there will also be a General Ledger Account code drop down list to modify.  

The  status of the Movement type can be changed from Active to Archived or Deleted if the item is no longer in use

  • Headings
  • Button Labels
  • Field Labels
  • Hover Tooltips - help-text
  • Field prompts - when a field is empty
