Pricing Model

On a Master | General tab, there is the option of defining the Pricing model used by any Trips/Departures which are created off this Master

Generally, a Package trip will be Costed.  A Custom trip might be Quoted.

From the Main Menu | Master | Details | General tab, you can define your Master's pricing being based on either a Costed or Quoted pricing model

  • The ONLY difference between Quoted and Costed is that with a Quoted pricing model, a custom fee can be included.
  • Both Quoted and Costed can still charge out Charges/Discounts, Accommodation, Bag movements, bike hire, all other elements etc
  • The base trip cost on a package might often include all of those standard charges such as x nights accommodation, x bike/bag/PAX movements, and only additional days/elements get charged, regardless of whether the trip is costed or quoted

The pricing model can be changed at Departure level, from the Details | General tab

Costed

A "costed" trip means that the clients are charged the retail cost of all the individual components of the departure. e.g. If the individual retail costs were:

$550 in base trip costs/discounts, $780 in accommodation, $ 22 in activities

$ 30 for a shuttle, $1382 incl GST

Then the client would be charged $1382 inc GST in a Costed package

However, sometimes this cost is not a suitable price for marketing purposes, or perhaps you just want to add some padding to that price.  In this case, a Master price can be made Quoted

Quoted

A "quoted' departure means that the retail price of all the individual components is added up, and a further amount added as "padding" to achieve the quoted price.  The 'padding' is called the   Custom Fee in Odyssey.    In the example below, the Master is set to Quoted.

The cost of the individual components of the trip are totalled in each Booking's Sub total column.  A rounded up figure was entered in the Quoted column.  The discrepancy between the sub total figure, and the quoted figure, ($14 in the example below) is then shown in the Custom Fee column.
