Company Settings - Code Structure
Code Structure settings allow you to structure your Departure (or Trip) Codes in a way that makes sense to your organisation
From the Main Menu, choose Admin | Company Settings | Code Structure
Trip Codes
[Departure or Trip] Codes are used to uniquely identify each Departure or Trip, and are used in multiple list and search areas within Odyssey. e.g. In the Departure List below.
Trip Codes are composed of four separate elements, each of which can be defined by your organisation.
- Season: These are defined in the Company Settings 2 | Season settings. The "ShortCode" field is the data that is used in the Trip Code
- Trail Short Code: This portion of the code is entered by the Reservation staff at the at the time of creating the specific Trip or Departure. You can choose what you enter here. Generally two or three digits.
- Month: These are defined in the Company Settings 2 | Months settings. The "Single" field is the data that is used in the Trip Code
- Suffix: This is a sequential number, up to 3 digits long, which is created at the time of making a new [Departure or Trip]
Below is an example of the Code structure settings with a resulting Trip Code
Although they can be longer, we recommend you keep your Trip Codes to around 9 digits long for the optimal formatting of them in the various views. When Trip Codes are longer than 9 characters long, we reduce the font size of the trip code in lists; that makes them a little harder to read.
