When should I use a Route Operator or an External Provider for movements?

Route Operators

For Odyssey clients using the full Depot functionality, a route operator can be used.

A route operator will most likely have scheduled runs, and by assigning movements to a scheduled run, the route operator will automatically be selected

Then, in using the Depot functionality to create a driver's manifest for bag, bike, pax movements, a daily list is compiled for each run, and can be sent to each route operator. This daily list can incorporate movements from multiple tours.

The Route operator can be an "own" service, or even an external movement provider

External Movers

An external mover does not typically offer scheduled, runs, and offers more adhoc movements.

Output for external movers is produced per tour; Odyssey does not compile multiple tours into one daily output for the provider.
