How to archive Bike Inventory items

Bike Inventory is an Advanced Module

This page is currently under development

From time to time bike stock needs to be replaced.  Perhaps it has reached the end of it's useful life, or has been stolen, etc.

Archiving a stock item takes effect immediately, making it unavailable for future use.

However, you may still need to use the item for the remainder of the current season while preventing it from being booked for the next season. In this case, rather than archiving it straight away, you can first mark the item as unavailable for next season's bookings.

This approach allows you to continue using the stock item until the end of the season while ensuring it cannot be booked for future departures. Once the season has finished and the item is no longer required, you can then archive it.

To first mark the item as unavailable for next season's bookings, prior to archiving it.

Identify a date range that you wish to make the item unavailable, e.g. it could be that you wish to keep the stock item available to be booked for all of this season, but not allow it to be booked next season.

Then from the Inventory menu, work your way through each bike item that you are going to make unavailable, and mark it as "Out - Removed".   Learn how to do this here.

To Archive a stock item

Archiving a stock item takes effect immediately, so only do this when the time is appropriate.  Archiving a stock item means that existing bike assignment records can still be reported on, but new assignments can not be made
