Q: Help, what do I need to do to prepare for a new season?
A: Prior to any new operational season starting, there are a series of areas within Odyssey that require data entry fields to be created, so they can be managed / entered / updated as required for that season. Learn all about it below:
1. Create a new season
Before you begin, you need to create a new season, if you haven't already done so. If the new season is appearing in your drop down lists and filters, it has already been created

2. Create New Seasonal RATE records
Seasonal Rate records apply to Provider rates, Bikes, Extras, Movements, and Runs.
They can be created individually on each of those individual tabs
or en masse using the New Season Records function

Create New Seasonal ITEM records (Masters)
Each new season requires new seasonal Masters. The masters can be created individually, Master by Maser, or en masse. Please choose option a) or b) below:
a) New season Masters can be created individually by selecting the popup menu when you have a Master open, and selecting New Season,
b) or create new Masters en-masse by using the "Duplicate Seasonal Master" button from Admin | Seasons | New Seasonal Records

Important FYI:
When you log into Odyssey it defaults the dropdown list to the 'current' year, as it thinks that's what you would want to work on. So it's something to be aware of when you're newish to editing Masters with multiple seasons of data in place. Otherwise the Departures created for the 2025 season might not contain data you change/add on the 2024 year master!
